I saw Chef Vikas Khanna during his book launch ‘Shaken and Stirred’ in the month of May at Foodhall, Palladium, Mumbai. He certainly has a lot of fan following. It was evident during the event as women flocked him from all sides to get a selfie with him.  Vikas Khanna is an award winning Michelin starred Indian chef, restaurateur, cookbook writer, filmmaker, humanitarian and the host of the TV show MasterChef India (season 2 & 3) and Masterchef Junior. He lives in New York City. In 2011, People magazine named Khanna in the list of “Sexiest Men Alive” and also referred to him as “The Hottest Chef of America”. Now we have a backing to our claim that he certainly is a dish.

I saw Chef Ranveer Brar during the Vikhroli Cucina event last year. He is such a humble pie. He loves to interact with his fans and never shies away from a selfie. Ranveer also interacts with his fans through Frankly.me app where he answers their questions. Chef Ranveer Brar was the youngest executive chef at the age of 25 to have ever worked with a five-star hotel in India. He hails from a Nawab family in Lucknow and decided to pursue the culinary world early in life when he assisted a Kebab vendor in his home town. He visited my sister’s college last year and was mobbed by the female students who were blissfully unaware that this boy is already taken. Yet, I must say that he is no less a celeb than the celebrities he serves exclusive food to.

I saw Chef Nikhil Chibb at the finale of Step Up by Johnnie Walker – India’s first digital mentorship programme where he mentored three upcoming food enthusiasts on the art of cooking. From a banker he turned into a chef for his passion for food. Owner of Busaba, he started with a shack in Goa called Busabong which later became a premium restaurant in Mumbai. Nikhil has appeared in various shows along with his wife Natasha and keeps his fans glued to his shows. He comes out a little reserved but is one of those people who love to travel, explore new cultures, new food and scout talent around the globe.

I haven’t met Chef Kunal Kapoor yet but I did see him in Masterchef India episodes and he does carry himself well. He comes out as the jolly-good-boy-next-door who is friendly and warm. He has a huge fan following too post his Masterchef series. He belongs to a family of bankers and took up cooking right at his kitchen counter while helping his dad and uncle’s Sunday cooking expeditions. Chef Kunal has been recognised amongst the Best Chefs in India by National Weekly Magazine – India Today and Indian Culinary maestro Jiggs Kalra titled him as “the next big guy in kebabs and curries in India” at the start of his career.
