Beat the Heat with These Beauty Secrets

The heat through the year takes a toll on your skin and hair. Moreover, if your job requires you to travel far and wide then a lot of damage is done during the peak sunny mornings. You can get skin tan, skin rashes, frizzy hair, body odour due to sweat and heat, itchy scalp and skin and a gamut of other problems due to heat. But there are a few good solutions which can counter these problems. You can say that these are my beauty secrets which help me to look and feel better during summer months.

Problem 1: Skin Tan

Skin tan is a major problem. It makes the complexion dull irrespective of your skin colour. I feel dark skin tone is equally beautiful if the skin is clean and glowing. But sun and heat leaves the skin patchy giving it irregular blotches of colour. This can be tackled with honey and ground chana dal face pack. Apply it on the affected area. Leave it for 15 minutes and then wash. If you do this regularly for two weeks, you will see a lot of difference in your complexion. But in case you are one of those who love quick results and less mess then go for Spinz Sun Tan Remover. This is a cream based product that contains no bleach. It has been dermatologically tested and found to be safe for all skin types. If your job requires you to be outside a lot then you can keep this little tube in your bag and use this product to get a de-tanned radiant look right before an important meeting or an event. Apply about 2 finger lengths of Spinz Sun tan remover cream on you face for 5 -10 minutes and wash it with plain water. It is that simple. It is like an on-the-go mini-facial anywhere you want.  #SpinzBanTheTan

Problem 2: Darkened lips

Sun can darken the delicate skin on your lips making them look discoloured and dry. I always use a good lip balm to make them look soft and supple but in case the damage has already being done then use a high-definition matt lipstick or lip line in natural pink to fill up the lips and use a neutral balm on top of it. Try to make a fine granulated sugar and oil scrub for your lips and use it twice a week to regain natural colour and suppleness. I use Lakme High-definition in Rose Bloom or Coral Flare to cover the darkened lips.

Problem 3: Frizzy Hair

First and foremost, if you have frizzy hair then look no further than your kitchen. Mix two tablespoon of coconut oil with curd water. The residual water left after the curd has been taken is full of protein and nutrients. Apply this lavishly on your frizzy hair then cover your hair with plastic/shower cap or hot towel. Let it stay on your hair for 20-30 minutes and rinse with a mild shampoo. With weekly use, you will find that your hair looks smooth. You can also use hair serum on your wet hair to give it shine. I use Amazon hair serum.

Problem 4: Body Odour

Market is flooded with deodorants. If you find them ineffective or if they irritate your skin then make your own spray. Mix water and equal amount of herbal oil of your choice into a spray bottle and then shake. You can create your own body spray. I use lemongrass oil to create my own body spray. Else, I use Chambor body mist which has a very floral-rainforest sort of fragrance. It lingers on for quite a while.

Problem 5: Oily face

Face gets oily in the summer months. It looks and feels unpleasant. To keep the skin from producing more oil, mix lemon and cucumber juice in equal quantity on your face and wash it off with plain water after 15 minutes. Do this process thrice a week and see the results. Try not to use foundation or oily make up on your skin. Instead apply Lacto Calamine which soothes the skin as well as gives it a basic coverage. I use Lacto Calamine Oil Control.
