Chili’s Powai introduces new IPL Burger and Beer menu

Mumbaigloss was invited to review the new IPL Burger and Beer menu at Chili’s Powai this weekend. Cricket is a religion in India and every religion has festivals. Chili’s is giving the cricket lovers an opportunity to celebrate the cricket season same as festivities with an array of international beer flavours and sliders to go along with it.

Amigos Tequila Flavour Beer from England, Estrella Damm from Spain, Murphy’s Irish stout from Ireland, Amstell Light from Holland, Sagres Beer from Portugal, Erdinger Dunkel from Germany, Birra Moretti from Italy are to name a few. Sounds interesting, isn’t it? They have put of screens across the restaurant which are streaming live matches.
We went for their bestsellers which is Beerita, a refreshing cocktail made with Kingfisher lite, lime juice, etc. and Triorita which consisted of three margaritas. Presidente (Tequila Triple Sec, Brandy, Sour mix), El-Nino (Tequila, Triple Sec, Orange Juice) and Tropical Sunrise (Tequila Triple Sec, Pineapple Juice, Grenadine), Chili’s famous margaritas are offered in three glasses with a stand. You also get free drinks during happy hours between 4 – 8 pm. I loved Presidente. Protibha loved Beerita.

Beerita, refreshing for a summer evening

Now coming back to the food, Chili’s has created a quick bite menu so that you can enjoy it with your drinks while watching sports. There is a bite sized burger platter which foodies would love as the sliders are mini flavour bombs. The chicken wings platter with choice of sauces like barbeque, honey chipotle, Orange Habanero and hot wing sauce is also a good accompaniment with the drinks. I recommend the orange habanero and hot wing sauce, as I found it to be delicious and it went well with the crispy fried bite size chicken. We also tried the Bacon Ranch Chicken Quesadilla and Veggie and Cheese Quesadilla.

Chilis Powai, Quesadillas

Surprisingly, Veggie and Cheese Quesadilla was much better with heaps of oozing cheese, spinach and corn to balance the flavours. Vegetarians can order this without any second thoughts.

And later came the star of the evening, Chicken Bacon Burger which was crispy because of bacon, tangy due to pickle with a wholesome chicken patty. The portion size was good and it came with potato fries. I and Protibha shared the burger as it was too big for a single person.

The cost of the dishes varies between Rs. 475 -1075. A meal for two will easily cost between Rs. 1500 to Rs. 2000 other than the drinks. Cost of drinks depends on the brand and the origin.

So, if you are in a mood to enjoy a good cricket match with some food and drinks to match the event then head straight to Chili’s.
