The Fashion Story – Style Hippie – Chapter 1 – accessories and other gift item suggestions

The Fashion Story Style Hippie

The Fashion Story

Few days back, MumbaiGloss listed a few statement jewellery pieces to go with your party dresses. And that is when I realized that the jewellery pieces need not be only the diamond and emerald ones.  It can be your humble beads, resins, crystal and stones as well to go with your party dresses. To wear statement jewellery, you need not spend a bomb. And that’s when I started recollecting all the exclusive pieces I saw at a recent pop-up exhibition ‘The Fashion Story – Style Hippie – Chapter 1’ by Glitterati and Co.

The exhibition included fashion bags, scarfs, jewellery, shoes, dresses and everything voguish. I bought a few amazing accessories at the event and thought why not share with you a few of them. You can also take a cue from this list and buy a New Year gift for your girl gang. Or you can simply order one for yourself to wear it to your next soiree. (I have included a few items from a company which didn’t participate but thought that their accessories will make a good gift.)

I was pretty impressed by ESSDEE Accessories. Drishti, the designer and owner comes across as a very creative person who presented very unique pieces which can be worn irrespective of the current trend or occasion.  I loved the retro owl bracelet so much that I had to get one for myself. I paid Rs. 599 for that. Other than that the filigree earrings, necklaces in contrasting settings were equally amazing which were priced between Rs 599 to Rs 799.

I liked the stuff from The Stuff. It was quirky, edgy and everything that grabs attention.  Be it the lipstick print stole, or the pop art clutches, colourful phone covers or bags with portraits or pillow cover and bed sheet set with naughty messages; everything was eye popping for sure. Sachin from The Stuff explained that they source their stuff from various manufacturers as well as design it themselves. Meghna is the creative head while he looks after the other aspects of the business. I loved their hand-painted clutches and picked one for myself.  Their stuff is priced anywhere between Rs 800 to Rs 2000.

I also wanted to mention about Drop Dead Gorgeous, a pune based accessories’ company who has never failed to impress me with their products. The designs are plush and very much in vogue. You can get bags, scarfs, tights, necklaces and various other accessories to deck up your everyday look. They were not part of the exhibition but I would very much want them to be a part of the next chapter of the Style Hippie. Bright colour necklaces, jeweled collars, studded bags, shoes with rivets, you name it and you will find it in their collection. I need not say more, but you can always visit their page and choose a statement piece for yourself and they will arrange for its delivery.
