Funds raised from the festival go towards the restoration and upkeep of the area. Several heritage buildings and institutions in the area have benefited from this. It offers various programs in visual art, music, theatre, dance, street acts, heritage walks, literature and workshops for children as well as adults during the week-long event. Heritage walks:

If  you are interested to know the city closely and would want to see significant milestones in the history of Mumbai then do participate in the ‘heritage walks’ conducted by the festival organisers. Every day, a walk has been planned, mapping the monuments, the culture and the identity which has now become part of history. I highly recommend walk in the premises of Bomaby High Court on Feb 1 at 1 pm. It is the second largest building after the CST, constructed in the late 19th century designed by Col. J. Fuller of the Royal Engineers, with the imposing turrets, massive central court room, towers surmounted by statues representing Mercy and Justice. Also, an open bus tour will operate every day at various timings starting opposite Regal Cinema. It’s a tour of the South Mumbai Heritage for an hour, and you will witness landmarks like the Gateway of India, Taj Mahal Hotel, Mumbai University, High Court, Victoria Terminus, Asiatic Society and many more. The bus will return to the starting point on completion of the tour. Enjoy the breezy and refreshing ride in the pleasant Mumbai evening.
