Le Mangii Lower Parel was inaugurated in December 2013 and it has garnered quite a lot of attention already. Being a part of the popular Café Mangii, Le Mangii is well equipped in every way; be it the ambience, the food, the hospitality, Le Mangii gave us a beautiful evening to remember in the form of pre-Valentine’s Day bash. It is a fine dining restaurant and specializes in Italian cuisine. CEO & owner Prashant Chaudhari gave a warm welcome to all his guests and was present for the entire evening. We had a fun time at the event. Along with drinks, good food, good music, we were also entertained by well-known stand-up comedian Angad Singh Ranyal who made us laugh with his sardar jokes. There were games and prizes and over all the evening was anything but dull.
Le Mangii – The Italian Table is conveniently located in Kamla mills compound (right inside the first gate on Senapati Bapat Marg) Lower Parel and has ample of parking space. They have a valet service so if you are unable to find a parking area in the peak hours, the valet would take care of it. The property is huge. The ground floor has Palate, another restaurant from the same group which has a lot of seating area and the first floor has Le Mangii, with a lounge and bar with efficient seating arrangement. It is ideal for big parties and gatherings. The ceiling is very high and is lit with natural light during day time. The wooden table chairs, live greenery and three dimensional brick walls give you a feeling of earthiness.
The ambience is ideal to devour their special Napolitana, handmade, thin crust, wood-fired oven pizzas. We tried their specially designed Valentine’s 3 course menu which definitely had something for everybody. I tried their Zucchini Pappardelle in creamed truffle sauce topped with olive and herb pistou. (Zucchini slices cooked like pasta in white sauce) which was a healthier alternative and was pretty delicious. Their pan seared chilly garlic prawns were fine too. But if I have to favorite a dish then it would be their pizzas. Sorry, I skipped the dessert as I had already indulged in red wine Sangria and was trying to maintain calorie count for the day. I know it’s a sin when you don’t give into simple pleasures of life like Molten Lava cake and Strawberry cheesecake. But when the scales are tipping on the wrong side, it’s advisable to restrain. But those who did indulge really loved it. Their a la carte menu does include a selection of fondue, pastas, risottos, grills, soups, etc. For more information click here.
The price of various dish varies between Rs. 250 to Rs. 1650. Average meal for two will cost around Rs. 3000 and above. So, you can conclude that it’s on the expensive side.
Pros: Spacious, good authentic Italian food, bar, parking           Cons: Expensive
My verdict: If you are craving for authentic Italian food and are looking to indulge irrespective of the pricing then this is an excellent option.
