Lucky Ali: 15 most beautiful songs

A couple of months back I attended a special musical evening by singer, actor and producer Lucky Ali at Blue Frog in Lower Parel. Since, then I have been planning to do a post on his most popular songs till date. But something or the other took priority and I was not able to list his most beautiful songs created for the Indian music industry. But today, I made up my mind to do this post at all cost for all the true music lovers and readers of my blog.

Lucky Ali is the second of the eight children of the popular Bollywood comedian, Mehmood. His mother Mahelaka, was part Bengali and part Pathan, sister of popular Indian actress of the 60s – Meena Kumari. His first wife was Meaghan Jane McCleary (a New Zealander), who has acted in the video O Sanam from his first album Sunoh. Those green-blue beautiful eyes are his first wife’s. He later married a parsi girl and the third time a British model and former Miss England Kate Hallam. Lucky Ali believes in mysticism and rebirth which is a constant theme in his music videos. His soulful voice makes these songs even more haunting. His spirit is that of a vagabond, carefree and limitless. His music videos depict a lot of travel, longing and search for a soulmate mirroring his own quest for the one.

Here is a list of the 15 great songs that are timeless and were path-breakers in the Indian music scene:

1.O sanam – Sunoh

2. Na tum jano na hum – Kaho Na Pyar Hai –

3.Hairat – Anjana Anjani

4.Aahista Aahista – Bachna E Hasino –

5.Khuda Hafiz – Yuva

6.Bekarar – Pathshala

7. Gori Teri aankhen –

8. Dekha hai aise bhi – Sifar

9. Ek Pal Ka Jeena – Kaho Na Pyar Hai

10. Aa Bhi Ja – Sur –

11. Tu kaun hai – Bhopal Express

12. Teri Yadein aati hain – Sifar

13. Kitnee Haseen Zindagi

14. Tere mere saath jo hota hai

15. Maut – Kaante

Have I missed out on any gem? Do leave a comment below and I will include that song in the list.
