mapxencaRS by fashion designers Riddhi–Siddhi hosts cocktails at The Westin Mumbai

Mumbaigloss was invited to a special preview of the Indo-Western collection by designers Riddhi–Siddhi of mapxencaRS at The Westin Garden City for cocktails. The label has been started by twin sisters Riddhi & Siddhi Mapxencar in September 2009 who come from Goa. The embroidery incorporated in garments aims at giving an illusion of print and textures rather just embellishments. The garments are made from only pure silks and natural cottons and linen. The label aims at meticulously crafted garments that are stylized and tailored to meet contemporary fashion lovers. These are structured elegant evening and cocktail wears. Perfect for the festive season! They were showcased in one corner of the grand ballroom.

The evening was anything but boring as many TV celebs were seen cheering the designer duo. Beauty queens Parvathy Omnakuttan, Amruta Patki, Urvashi Rautela, actress Rashmi Nigam, model Freddy Daruwala were seen at the event among others.

Celebrity Chef Ajay Chopra also dished out some amazing food at the cocktail evening. Sous vide chicken roulade with cauliflower espuma, carrot brittle and jus jelly were served live from counters. I am still thinking about the chicken roulade.

Chicken roulade….

Everything was served with molecular gastronomy in mind. Even the deserts were bite sized. Of course, fashionistas love bite size food. It helps them to keep the makeup in place for a very long time. No second applications of lipsticks required! Jokes apart, it was perfect for a cocktail evening where guests were busy mingling and socializing with their wine tulips in one hand.

Chef Ajay Chopra designed beautiful cakes with 3D floral motifs and floral lace fondants. It was pretty evident that food designed by the chefs was completely inspired by fashion. What a great combination! I had an awesome time eating delicious food and absorbing fashion all around me at this event.
