Philips Satinelle Essential Epilator India review

Philips recently sent me their latest Satinelle Essential epilator to review which is being promoted by Aalia Bhatt. Look here what Aalia has to say about the product.

Philips epilator review, how to remove hair from skin

The product MRP is Rs. 2495 but you can find this at Flipkart and other ecommerce websites a lot cheaper.

The product packet comes with the following contents:

  • Epilator Machine
  • Sensitive area cap
  • Electric Cord
  • Small flat brush to clean
  • Manual and warranty card

Philips Satinelle Essential Epilator features:

  • Long electric Cord
  • Sensitive Area Cap for Delicate Skin
  • And has unique epilation discs which claim to pluck out hair as short as 0.5mm in length

I used the product over the weekend and also asked my sister to use it and we both came to the conclusion that it doesn’t beat the comfort and time efficiency of a waxing session or the easiness of shaving. But in case, you are travelling or are not living close to a parlour then it can take care of your basic hair removal requirement.

What I liked about the product:

  • Ergonomic design, fits easily in your palm and gives a good grip.
  • Absolutely, light weight. Easier to store or carry while travelling.
  • It is electricity operated and not battery operated so you need not worry about changing batteries often.
  • Has a long electric cord which helps you to plug it into a convenient socket and sit in a comfortable area while removing hair.
  • The epilation isn’t very painful.
  • Hygienic as you can keep it restricted to a single user. No hassles of dirty water and unclean towels used in the parlour.

What I disliked about the product:

  • The quality of the plastic body could have been better for both the machine and the brush.
  • It takes very long to remove hair in comparison to waxing or shaving. Though, wax always has the potential to burn skin or irritate sensitive skin but it is faster and done in seconds however painful it might seem. Shaving doesn’t have long lasting results and you need to do it on frequent intervals.
  • It doesn’t remove very short hair as claimed by the company.

Note: Slight pinching sensation is felt on the skin while using the product which might make you uncomfortable. Though it isn’t very bad. (Basically, hair is pulled out from the roots) This isn’t anything new for people who have already used epilators.

Will I recommend it to you?

If you don’t like going to your local parlour for a quick waxing session and are not comfortable shaving your arms and legs often then go for it. It might take much longer but it uproots visibly longer hair and gives you clean skin for a longer duration as compared to shaving. Use talc to get a good grip on smaller hair.
