Reebok India introduces the ‘Running Squad’ to Mumbai

Having witnessed an overwhelming response from running enthusiasts last year, Reebok India expands its one of a kind initiative ‘Reebok Running Squad’ to eight cities across India – Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune and Chandigarh. A unique programme that aims to provide free professional guidance to long-distance runners, RRS has inspired thousands of runners last marathon season, and is now looking to encourage the fitness enthusiasts of Mumbai to get marathon-ready.

Commenting on the concept, Radha Krishnaswamy, Reebok Running Squad Master Trainer said, “With an increasing number of people signing up for marathons this year, India is experiencing a running revolution in the country. Last year, over one lakh running enthusiasts participated in major marathons across the country, and the number is only expected to increase this year. We at the Reebok Running Squad help members train not only to finish the race, but to also be fit, avoid injuries, and truly enjoy the experience. Three months of rigorous training with RRS will enhance every runners’ physical boundaries and endurance levels. This program will make sure that their run is a fun, rewarding and safe experience.”

The Reebok Running Squad has been specially designed keeping in mind that running requires stamina, endurance and strength and provides training to a range of runners – from beginners to intermediate and advanced. Additionally, the program also focuses on educating members about taking necessary precautions to avoid injuries. By signing-up with this new running partner, members can spur their progress by running with like-minded people in the community runs organized in each city.

According to Mr. Somdeb Basu, Brand Director, Reebok India “Reebok is committed to fitness and keeping this in mind, we instituted the Reebok Running Squad and are extremely delighted to introduce it to the fitness enthusiasts of Mumbai. Through expanding the program not only in metros but other cities as well, we aim at encouraging more and more people to participate in regular fitness activities and enhance their running techniques for the upcoming marathon season.”

To prepare the RRS members for the running season, Reebok Running Squad will also organise 10km city runs in all the eight cities. Culminating at Reebok Fithub stores, these runs will also engage RRS members through personalized GAIT Analysis to improve their running efficiency and cool down sessions amongst other exciting activities. To further boost their performance, the top three male and female winners of these city runs will be gratified with top-of-the-line Reebok running merchandise. A team of certified nutritionists and dieticians are also associated with this training program, and work closely with individuals and groups in the programme to ensure that their diet compliments their physical training routine, thereby ensuring complete fitness required to achieve their end goals.

Reebok Running Squad was started in Delhi and NCR in October 2013 and was conducted at seven different locations. Now available at 29 different locations across eight cities in the country, the Reebok Running Squad is all set to mark the next milestone in its fitness journey.
