Jewellery designer Alpana Gujral will showcase her latest collection ‘The Golden 20’s’ at her Lajpat Nagar, Delhi, showroom on 16th and 17th September. To see Alpana Gujral jewellery collection, you can visit her showroom.

She has used intricate vintage designs on oxidized gold along with deft use of pearls, emeralds, rubies, enamel and diamonds. She has taken inspiration from the majestic grandeur of the Mughal Era, yet keeping in mind the modern day styles. Her collection includes both light weight and heavy jewellery. The designs have been crafted for both Indian and western ensembles; for day wear and evening wear.

Daughter of famous artist Satish Gujral, Alpana has creativity in her blood. And when you see her designs, it becomes so evident. Alpana’s discerning aesthetic values in patterns, forms and lines are because of her artistic upbringing. “The embodiment of affluence lies in quality not in flash”, says Alpana. Her designs spell class. They are simple yet elegant. They are intricate, subdued, yet beautiful.

Alpana started as an interior designer with special focus on furniture design, but today with sheer hardwork and uniqueness she has made her mark as a jewellery designer. But how did she transition from one art to another. She says, “Creativity knows no bounds. It is fluid. It is seamless. It has the intensity to flow from one realm to another with innate ease. I have always been interested in creating new stuff and looking beyond the predictable. In fact, for years I had been designing and making jewellery for the family and for close friends. So if you take that into account, my foray into jewellery designing isn’t new; it’s just that now I have been focusing more on it. Now there’s market for it. Most jewellery outlets provide traditional sort of jewellery and people have had enough of it.”  Alpana’s unconventional style is evident in her jewellery design as well.

The theme of the 20’s collection is yin and yang; to get the opposites together. The opposite components have been meticulously composed to come together in harmony.  Be it rings, chandelier earrings, bracelets; you will see a harmony of elements.

You can visit her exhibition on 16th and 17th September at: 16 Feroze Gandhi Road, Lajpat Nagar – 3, New Delhi
