Za Perfect Solution Restoring Collagen Cream and Za Perfect Solution Cleansing foam review

Za (pronounced as Zee – Ai) is a part of Japanese brand Shiseido Co, who recently launched their products a couple of months ago in India. I was given 4 tiny sample jars of Za Perfect Solution Restoring Collagen Cream (Rs. 1100+) by the girl on the counter when I bought Za Perfect Solution Cleansing foam for Rs. 399. Not bad! I thought. Or maybe the girl actually wanted to help my slightly creasing 35+ skin. Bless her!

I am usually skeptical when it comes to becoming a guinea pig for cosmetics. That’s the reason I do not like to do random product reviews. But when the girl at the counter insisted, “Madamji, your skin will become butter smooth after a month of applying this cream”, I just fell for it. At the back of my mind, I could hear the song “Oye Makhana”, yes the same one where Madhuri did a little jiggy with Big B and Govinda. And I thought why not give it a try. I know a very lame excuse to try a new product but I went for it anyway.

Skin experts suggest that prevention is better than cure. Therefore, one should start using an anti-ageing product just after the 25th birthday as skin starts losing its elasticity and smoothness after that. Basically, collagen is the protein which helps our skin to hold moisture and gives it elasticity. But due to poor diet, stress, pollution, etc. we start losing collagen from our skin and hence skin starts aging. Sugar in our diet also affects the quality of collagen produced by our skin. Therefore, you can say collagen is one of the important elements in having a youthful look.

Za Perfect Solution Restoring Collagen Cream contains 7 Trillion Collagen capsules in a jar, for resilience and wrinkles-free skin. The company claims that it helps in firming up the skin, reducing appearance of wrinkles and provides hydration over a period of time. It has received a few awards for its excellent results. This cream can be used on the face during both day and night after cleansing with Za Perfect Solution Cleansing foam. Therefore, you can say that Za claims this to be a potent anti-aging potion in a jar that will help us regain our youthfulness. Have you heard this before?

I used Za Perfect Solution Restoring Collagen Cream for a month and didn’t see any major difference. It is like any other drugstore serum or cream in the market which claim to give you youthful skin. Over-the-counter products can never deliver results as claimed by this cosmetic company and Za Perfect Solution Restoring Collagen Cream is no different. The cream is little greasy to be applied as a day moisturizer, especially in Mumbai weather. There is no strong fragrance and the consistency is smooth. It did reduce the appearance of the pores on my skin but nothing beyond that. Fine lines on my forehead remain still and my skin doesn’t appear youthful either. At least, not after a month.

I liked Za Perfect Solution Cleansing foam though. A tiny dot builds up into rich foam and my skin feels super clean after a face wash. I think the 100 ml tube is going to last me for a long time. It doesn’t dry out the skin and the skin feels soft and supple. No strong fragrance has been used. The packaging of the tube is in bright pink and looks like any other product.

I will buy the cleansing foam again but not the cream.  They have tried to place the cream against Olay Total Effects which costs almost the same. What do you think about these products? Do leave a comment.
