Yog Niketan by Sanskriti is one of the best budget hotel’s in Rishikesh.
It is a clean and very convenient. Located at the bank of river Ganga, near Ramjhula, it gives a clear view of the Parmarth Niketan. You can view ganga aarti at Parmarth sitting at your hotel balcony. High on aesthetics and has all the basic amenities. Perfect for a family, especially if they are travelling with children.
They also have an Ayurvedic Spa, arrange for Yoga Retreat and have a cafe where they serve their meals.

How to reach Yog Niketan Hotel?
By air: You will get a taxi from Dehradun’s Jolly Grant Airport to Rishikesh. Yog Niketan is right on the main Haridwara Rishikesh Badrinath Road.
By road: It is on NH 58, near Rishikesh Badrinath Highway, Ram Jhula Parking, Rishikesh, Uttarakhand – 249192
What is the cost of stay?
It will cost Rs 6000 to 7000 (including breakfast) for one night for a couple. Extra bed is charged separately. Please be aware that an extra bed is just a mattress with a pillow, a bed sheet and a cover. Extra bed was charged at Rs 1300 per night.
How is the parking?
The parking is on the roadside, next to the pavement and is limited.
How are the rooms?
The rooms are decent, with king size bed, a desk and chair, TV, mini fridge and toiletries. The bathroom is modern and comes with towels and a hair dryer.
How is the food?
They serve vegetarian food only with regular Indian fare like paneer, dal, sabji among others. The options are limited and their staff is underequipped to handle a full house.
You can sit outside or inside the Organic Cafe, which mainly offers buffets. We decided to only eat their breakfast. We had ordered lunch on the day we arrived, but it was chaotic. They also have package for all meals. We are glad we didn’t take it and decided to explore other places to eat in Rishikesh.
Large groups occupy the big tables inside the cafe, and it is a cacophony. You cannot talk amongst your own family members. Outside the cafe, there are a few seats in the garden area, which are peaceful but you need to keep on moving inside for second helpings. The servers only bring you chapattis to the table.
The place was full of houseflies even in December. So, I guess the cafe isn’t their high point.
So, which is their high point?
Location! Location! And Location!
It is their high point, their USP. Easily accessible by local autos (Ramjhula auto stand is a stone’s throw away). Easily, accessible by 4 wheelers and two wheelers.
You can rent a boat to go across the river and you can walk down to the other side of the river by crossing Ramjhula which is 550 metres away (2 minutes walk).
You can walk down to Parmarth Niketan for their daily ganga aarti or watch it from your balcony.
What are the activities in and around Yog Niketan by Sanskriti hotel?
Walk on the promenade next to the hotel
It is a beautiful 1 km walk on the promenade that takes you towards Dayananda Ashram in Rishikesh. The ashram does bhandara every afternoon and also conducts Vedanta retreats.
The walk along side river Ganga will give you many experiences. From chancing upon a beautiful bird perched on the rock to dead bodies burning at the shamshan ghat where the bodies leave earth to mingle with the elements, to listening to the calming water of Ganga flowing with a strong current, you will find grounding experiences here.
You can also observe the locals doing pooja by the river, as well as socializing by the river.
Occasional interruptions from the cotton candy and popcorn seller might break your plentitude of a journey.
Walk across Ramjhula and visit the market
The hotel is very close to Ramjhula (550 metres) away and it is a good idea to walk down Ramjhula to reach on the other side of the river. You will find many shops selling gift items on the way.
The market area is full of shops, places to eat, selling clothes and other gift items. You can see what all you can buy in Rishikesh here.
You can eat at the famous Chotiwala across the Ramjhula bridge (the original shop since 50+ years) or buy some Ramphal for your return journey.
You can also go to Parmarth Niketan for participating in the daily Ganga aarti in the evening.
Yoga and Ayurveda
Participate in their daily yoga class or yoga retreats that they offer time to time. You can also book yourself in their Ayurvedic spa, to get treatments.
White water rafting
You can also book yourself a white water rafting experience. The minimum age to participate is 12 years.
